After a long and uncertain winter of developments in which the existence of the Belgian Championships got inhibited, the decision has been made. Jimmy Adriaenssens and David Nye will compete in the new Supercar Challenge. A championship with nine meetings, divided over five different racetracks. The Antwerp Spork Racing Team will run five meetings on Belgian soil (Spa-Francorchamps and Zolder), three in Holland (Assen and Zandvoort) and one in Germany (Nürburgring). All nine events are well-known to attract numerous fans. The Gamma Racing Day at Assen 2011 rised above 50.000 visitors. Also events as the FIA GT1 – European GT3 at Zolder are extremely succesfull and guarantee a huge amount of spectators. April 21st and 22nd will be the kick-off of the Supercar Challenge, the first weekend will be held in Zolder during the FIA GT1 – European GT3 Championship.
Meanwhile we’ve also received favourable news on Belgian soil, the new organisator has been allowed to start up the Belgian Championships. He’s hoping to have everything ready by mid May and to start officially then. A possibility which we’d like to keep open, next to our ambitions in the Supercar Challenge, to guarantee our partners maximum publicity in our homeland.
We’re very pleased to announce this news to the world. More information about our first event in Zolder April 21st-22nd will follow.
