Last week Jimmy ‘AJ’ Adriaenssens and the Spork Racing Team went testing in Zolder for their first roll-out. Accompagnied by his fellow-drivers David Nye, Jonas De Kimpe and Vincent Van Paemel, they practically had the circuit of Zolder for their own, approx. 10 racecars only. An ideal situation for exploring the limits of the improved Super’Spork’copa’s.
Jimmy and David who didn’t have a hard time finding their rhythm clocked tight laptimes and seemed to be more than ready for the first race. As announced on the Dutch autosport-websites Jimmy and David will start competing in the Supercar Challenge. Jimmy, who’ll add another test to his calendar, next week on Wednesday in Spa, is looking forward to measure himself and the team with his Dutch colleagues. The Kick-Off of the Supercar Challenge will be held in Zolder during the FIA GT1-weekend.
2012 will be AJ’s 8th season in car racing and his 4th with a Seat Leon Supercopa. After 1 title, 3 vice-titles and 2 third endrankings, Jimmy and his team are keen on shining in the Supercar Challenge. “Although the championship will be totally new for us, we can say we’ll arrive well-prepared in Zolder. Our first test in Zolder was promising and next week in Spa will be a matter of dotting the ‘i’. There are still a few things we’d like to try and Spa will fulfill to our needs. Normally it isn’t just me in Spa, my fellow drivers on the former 51-Supercopa and 54-Supercopa will also be there to take the reins of their horses. I’m looking forward to play catch with them and to get into the rhythm of Spa-Francorchamps.” a highly motivated Jimmy Adriaenssens.
